Welcome to the website for

Beckenham Festival

Competitions in Music and Dancing

Held on weekends in November each year

Beckenham Festival is one of the largest amateur competitive performing arts festivals in the south-east of England. There are around 400 classes in Music and Dancing, with specialist adjudicators in all sections. As well as certificates and medals there are over 200 cups and trophies to be won. A “Musician of the Year” competition is held on the final Sunday, and the Festival acts as a qualifying heat for the All-England Dance Competition.

Beckenham Festival is affiliated to The British and International Federation of Festivals of which

Her Majesty the Queen is Patron.

In 2013 the Festival was held at Marian Vian Primary School, Beckenham; Harris Academy Beckenham (formerly Kelsey Park School), Beckenham; St. George’s Church, Beckenham; and St. James’ Church, Elmers End.

For information on how the Festival is run please go to the Frequently Asked Questions page.

The Festival syllabus is published in June each year and is available free from London Borough of Bromley libraries and music shops or from the Festival organisers. Each section of the 2013 syllabus can be downloaded in PDF format from this website. Entry forms can be downloaded from each section’s page.

This website shows details of the 2013 Festival, these will be revised once the 2014 syllabus has been finalised.

We regret there are currently no Speech and Drama classes, and would be happy to hear from anyone who might be willing to take on running this section of the Festival.
